The life changing skill I’ve developed since creating my Podcast

I just launched a podcast on May 6th, talking about all things Procurement, Supply Chain and Commercial Management. That’s my profession and it seemed a no brainer to create a podcast in such an un-saturated area.

I’ve been thoroughly surprised by the development of one skill that I thought I had already mastered; listening.

I’ve already recorded around 13 podcasts talking to a mixture of Professionals.

These Professionals are good and at the top of their profession. They’ve run massive departments, they’ve managed hundreds of millions of spend. Actually, they’ve been responsible for Billions of spend.

That’s a lot of responsibility. Trust me, I’ve been resposbile for hundreds of millions of spend and billions of income in my Profession and it still blows my mind the sheer extraoridnary sums of money Business process.

It’s meant that in order to talk with them and to create value from the conversations, I’ve had to pull out information to keep the conversation in a state of flow. That’s essential and extremely difficult.

Your mind can wonder and start thinking about all sorts whilst you listen to someone talk for an extended period of time.
